Lake Millstätter See
Lake Millstätter See is the second largest lake in Carinthia. Situated at an altitude of 588m it is 13 kilometres long and up to 1.8 kilometres wide. With a depth of 141m, Lake Millstätter See holds 1204.5 million cubic metres of water, the highest volume of any lake in Carinthia. On account of this huge body of water, Lake Millstätter See is also among the warmest lakes in Carinthia and one of those with the least temperature variation. In summer, water temperatures of up to 26 degrees are not uncommon.
